 | Our FOSS Science Program materials have arrived. OLM
is proud to offer this unique, standards-based science program to our
students. First and second grade will work in units on air and water and
plants. Third, fourth and fifth grade will be focused on experiences in
sound, water, chemicals, environments, measurement, and magnets and
electricity. The program will be supplemented with our texts. |
| First Friday Mass will be held on October 6th
at 12:00 with Father Sean. Students will eat lunch at 11:30. All are welcome
to attend our mass. |
| On October 5th, our K-3 classes will be
taking a field trip to Stony Hill Farms in Chester. Please remember to
return signed permission slips. |
| Fourth grade will say the Rosary with the residents at
Arden Court on October 25th |
| On October 19th our pre-school children will be going
on a field trip to Alstede Farms in Chester. On the 25th, Pre-K
will go to Sun High Orchards in Randolph.. They will be picking pumpkins and
taking a hay ride. |
| School will be closed on October 9th and
October 16th. |
| Halloween will be celebrated on October 31st
at 12:45. Students will parade at Arden Court and return for a party in the
cafeteria. |
| Pam Watson, the Branch Manager from Valley National
Bank in Whippany will be speaking to our 1st- 3rd
graders about banking on October 12th. |
| School pictures will be taken on Thursday, October 12th.
Students may wear casual clothes to school for their picture. |
| Second graders have begun using learning centers in
various content areas. The centers provide independent reinforcement to
support learning. |
| We welcomed back Mrs. Irene Dourdoulakis, our
Pre-School teacher, from her maternity leave. |
| Our After Care children are creating a children’s
garden in front of the Parish Center. They have planted over 240 bulbs,
which we are looking forward to seeing flower in the spring. |
| Nurse Pat Russamano is working with the county health
department to refine our plan for pandemic flu. |
| Winter Uniforms will be worn beginning October 17th |
| A principal’s “Brown Bag” lunch will be held on
October 12th at 11:30 in the library. Please RSVP to Denise in
the office (973-887-2611) by October 10th. |
| Please be reminded that on days when the Hanover
Township schools are closed and we are open, the busses will come 15 minutes
early. |
